The day that never comes

There is no rose garden over the horizon,
That day never comes, fathoms your wisdom,
The colossal life-mansion, you accrued, eons and ages
Is but a castle on air, so it dawns

Teen years, a profession will fix it, money handful
Happiness is money, so was taught plentiful
Here you are, health lucrative,
Utterly confused, righthand time-affluent, yet leftie wealth-barren

A sinecure will fix the void, pockets puffed up,
Enough to buy a roof, a ride and a dream,
Here you are, a job lucrative ,
Still confused, finding elusive Mr Joy.

A spouse brings meaning, happiness abounds,
The toddler inclusive, heaven’s just an inch away,
Passing time, the question lurks,
As the question mark on your visage deepens

At 50, I shall retire, so spake you,
Isn’t that when you will find Joy
Widening waist, senility crawling
You look back in vain, where has all time gone?

I spent all my time chasing elusive joy,
I dreamt of a magical rose garden drop by,
Not understanding that, heaven lives within me,
I searched everywhere, like a lost bride

Life is but a conundrum,
I am the creator of my own heaven ’n’ hell,
Last I realize, Living in the moment
Smiles Mr Joy, and that is the essence.

There is no rose garden over the horizon,
That day never comes, fathoms your wisdom,
The colossal life-mansion, you accrued, eons and ages
Is but a castle on air, so it dawns
